What inspection data is available?
Each response includes vessel specs, current P&I club coverage (insurer and inception date), classification society status and survey renewal dates, and a chronological list of monthly area movements. For each individual inspection you get the port, authority, MOU, type, and date — plus a full breakdown of deficiencies (category, sub-category, defect), the vessel's classification at inspection time, all statutory certificates with issue and expiry dates, and — for detained vessels — the specific grounds for detention.
How far back does inspection history go?
We maintain inspection records going back several years for most vessels. Historical data depth varies by vessel and MOU, with more recent inspections having the most complete records.
Which MOUs are covered?
We cover all major MOUs including Paris MOU, Tokyo MOU, Indian Ocean MOU, Mediterranean MOU, Caribbean MOU, Abuja MOU, Black Sea MOU, Riyadh MOU, and USCG inspections.
Can I calculate vessel risk scores?
Yes! Use inspection frequency, deficiency counts, and detention history to build vessel risk profiles. Combine with our management data for comprehensive risk assessment.
What is the rate limit?
The Vessel Inspection endpoint has a rate limit of 15 requests per minute.
Does the data include classification society records?
Yes. Each inspection record includes the vessel's classification society status at the time of inspection — including the society name, last survey date, and class status. We cover all 11 major classification societies including ABS, Bureau Veritas, Lloyd's Register, ClassNK, DNV, and other IACS members.
Are P&I club and vetting records included?
Inspection records include statutory certificate data relevant to civil liability coverage. For tanker and gas carrier vetting specifically, inspection outcomes from OCIMF (SIRE) and CDI programs are reflected in the deficiency and detention history accessible through the API.
